Meet at Skyline Gate Staging Area

Hiking will take place rain or shine.

*** This month hiking is re-scheduled from March 20 to March 27 to avoid the scheduling conflict with the golf event.

Hiking route (tentative)
Parking lot - East Ridge Trail - Prince Trail - Stream Trail - Tres Sendas Trail - West Ridge Trail - West Ridge Trail - Parking lot (4.0 mi)
There are also short cuts for shorter distance.

Direction (There are a number of staging areas; please follow the following direction and allow for enough driving time)
In Oakland on Highway 13, take the Redwood Road exit and go east (uphill). At the top of the hill, turn left (north) onto Skyline Boulevard. You will first reach the 11500 Skyline Boulevard staging area on the right (the former administrative headquarters). Immediately past that, turn right to remain on Skyline Boulevard (otherwise the roadway becomes Joaquin Miller Road and you will proceed downhill). A few miles farther on Skyline you will reach Roberts Regional Recreation Area with a swimming pool, hiking, picnicking, etc. Farther along on Skyline you will reach Robert's Redwood Bowl, Moon Gate Staging Area, and the larger Skyline Gate Staging Area.

Last month hiking (Feb., 2010) in Coyote Hills Regional Park
The course was about 3 mi of mostly flat trails with about a half along a shoreline of the South bay.  It was a cool overcast day, but turned out to be perfect for enjoying the view of the calm bay.  The hike was followed by a nice lunch at a Korean restaurant in Oakland led by Mr. 최학묵 (KB39).
